This post comes up after reading her: Its not goodbye. Not really.
:)

I sit and try to recall when did it really start? Well I clearly remember the time it started. It was Saman! We were in class 3. I remember her running to me after the summer vacation has just ended. We used to sit and talk about all we did throughout the holidays. Talk till our jaws began to hurt. So she started telling me the books she read, about how cool Harry Potter was. After all the hearing of the stories happened I was like okay, I shall read it soon enough!
Then came September and time to get me a birthday gift. She ran to me before assembly with the book hidden behind her. "Guess what I got you?", she asked. "No idea!"
"Well I FINALLY managed to buy you the book", she shrieked!
She hugged me tight and we hurried to attend the assembly.

The affair started back then. :)
Harry Potter is childhood to me.
Thank you woman..

P.S.-  Kay I am tagging you here! Hope I succeed in making you read it someday! And you too shall- "enjoy the adventure minute by minute.." :D

School diaries…1

Staying in a boarding school had its own drawbacks still it taught you a lot. We were the smarter ones. The kids who managed to polish their shoes right from class one. Who were trained to bathe and wash their clothes, dress for school, hurry to the dining hall and manage their life on their own. We were molded that way. I am going to tell you a story of how we boarders who were nearly always hungry managed to fill their tummies each interval.
Started break with the normal,
THANK YOU GOD FOR THE FOOD WE EAT
THANK YOU GOD FOR THE BIRDS THAT SING
THANK YOU GOD FOR EVERYTHING.
We stared at the day scholars who had tiffin boxes full with the yummiest things you could imagine. We on the other hand had to walk down the length of the school to the kitchen area where a bearer stood to give us our share.(share here means the ONE patty, OR samosa, OR jam tart, at times it was two dog biscuits). Those days that was merely a hair's breadth for our empty stomach. At times we tried to beg the bearer for more than our share. On certain occasions he would feel bad and give us some food. Mostly he would scold us and shoo us off.
Another well planned trick that never failed was go near him when the bell is about to ring. That way he pitied the kid and gave double the share. Children our age were brainy enough. Our seniors had taught us the fool proof ways of extracting more food.

Another one was to ask for someone else's share and then run away. Tell the bearer that THAT girl is sick and can't walk so I need to take her share. He fell for that too.
Finally one day we had tried all of it, nothing worked and we stood there with rumbling stomachs. So one girl suggested that I change my hair style and went as another girl! At first the idea appalled me, later with no alternative I thought why not THIS too?! So here I tied my hair, made a higher pony took out some hair from my side locks and very boldly go up to the bearer and pick another patty. He fell for it perfectly. I was so thrilled I couldn't control my laughter and with the food in my hand I ran from his sight.
That day onwards another method was added to the list.
: )

P.S. - I recently went to school to see Matron was there with the bearer on duty. :|
So, our juniors will ever get to enjoy what we did.

Excessively shrewd? Eh?!

Someone teaches you something each day… people from all walks of life telling you something, an incident happens leaving you with a lesson learnt for a lifetime.
Today it was a story I heard. I would like to re-tell it here for the sake of people who come across it to hear ad also in the light that people who read it will for some reason learn from it. In this life the path you choose may be beneficial for you but it may not always be better for you.
"Once upon a time there was a King who was old and weary and about to retire from his work and as health would permit probably life too. He had two sons, the probable heirs to his throne and he had to divide his property among the two. He didn’t want to take the pains of thinking and making a decision so he opted for the easy way around. He asked the first son to divide the property into two appropriate parts keeping the condition that the second gets to choose which share he wants first."
: )
In many ways life too is like that. So next time you are given to choose make sure you make a wiser decision and not the better one! Selfishness gets you no where in life. Things don’t always work well for the smarter man, but rather for the man who stops and thinks for his fellow mates. Reflect upon it for a while.

*CHEERS* its Thursday!

Today what I write about is a place which holds a really special place in my life.
It’s TC! (And don't get fooled people, its not the Priya’s one this is the Adhchini one)
Turquoise Cottage..!! : )

The place has an aura of its own, the awesome music, the chilly chicken, the smoke so dense that you feel your eyes sting..You singing (read YELLING) at the top of our voices.. the most arbitrary people. Someone always is dancing at the bar and head banging so hard that if you observe that person in a drunken state the head will nearly fall off!  ;)  And mind you, if it’s a girl get ready to be slapped by her cascading hair!
The long line for the loo, the sharing of the beers and smokes in the line. ;)
The bloody mary's taste lingering on with the fag... the BEATLES drums which occupy the counter and Jim Morrison the wall, the "WOOD-WATERS-WILDLIFE" post on the wall... and the familiarity of DJ who begs we should not ask for DREAM ON!!

I am indebted for the oath we took to go there each Thursday.. Thank you my chums!  :*
THURSDAY I look forward to you now..  And this place leaves me with a smile on my face, nearly always.
